PDC LESSON 2.22 DESIGN - THE GARDEN IN PERMACULTURE

Designing the garden

To be successful at implementing any design, we must look at the most basic elements and work out from there. If we have the opportunity to start with a clear block of land this would be the ideal as the siting of the house, extra buildings etc. could be incorporated into a fully streamlined and optimal system.

A well-designed property is a marriage of landscape, people and their needs. Try to put a system together where everything helps each other as much as possible.

Take individual components and assess all their possible functions.

Remember the principle of everything working at least both ways?

Eg. Chickens give eggs and meat and clean up pests and weed.
